BREAKING NEWS:

JUDGE THOMAS MARCELAIN REJECTS APPEAL BY THE SHELLY COMPANY TO OPERATE ASPHALT PLANT IN ALEXANDRIA.

As reported by The Reporting Project on Tuesday, 8/21/24, an engineer that testified on behalf of Shelly argued the specific site on which the company proposed to build the asphalt plant was not in the protected floodplain.

Judge Marcelain ruled that Shelly’s arguments were not supported by evidence.

As reported in the reportingproject.org on 11/14, it has been discovered that New Albany Company is testing wells at the current Brookside Materials & Kurtz Brothers Top Soil with the potential to extract 4.5 MILLLION GALLONS OF WATER PER DAY to support the needs of Intel. The pumping of this water could cause residential wells and ponds to run dry, and could contaminate the drinking water source for residents in Alexandria, St. Albans Township & Granville.

As reported by the reportingproject.org, Mar-Zane Materials, a Shelly & Sands affiliate, has withdrawn their plans to install an asphalt plant at Martin Trucking on Rt. 37 on the northwest edge of Alexandria.
